Applied Learning Module (ApLM) Programme
The Applied Learning Module (ApLM) Programme enriches the Normal course curriculum by offering students hands-on, applied learning experiences that deepen learning through real-world relevance and help shape their educational and career pathways.
Its rationale includes:
Extending and building on existing Normal course learning objectives through applied learning.
Introducing students to possible post-secondary educational courses.
Exposing students to various career paths.
This programme aligns with MOE’s vision of learning by doing, learning about the real world, and learning for life, enabling students to connect theory with practice, appreciate authenticity in learning, and develop lifelong dispositions of resilience and adaptability.
Key Programmes & Initiative
Programmes:
ApLM @ Schools: 20–25 hour modules delivered by vendor partners within school premises. Students may undertake up to three ApLMs during their secondary education, with participation strongly encouraged—especially in ApLM @ ITE/Poly—to enhance education and career guidance (ECG) through immersive learning Ministry of Education.

Achievements & Highlights
ApLM participation can positively contribute to students’ Holistic Development Profile (HDP), supporting applications via the Early Admission Exercise (EAE) or Direct Admission Exercise (DAE).
ApLM modules may award advanced standing credits for ITE Higher Nitec programmes, and a Certificate of Completion (with commendation for high achievers) is issued to students who meet attendance and assessment benchmarks.
